Hello and welcome to the November 2013 MB Spares Newsletter.

Mercedes-Benz Club of the ACT 38th Concours d 'Elegance pictures.

The 38th annual MBCACT Concours has been run and won with the outright prize going to a stunning 190SL. Unfortunately for the second year in a row the venue had a late change to the Treasury carpark due to rain making the lawns of Old parliament house way to mushy to drive on. Pictures and more details on the event can be found on our Facebook page or by following this link.

Spanners and Sausages 2013

The annual MB Spares Sausages and Spanners night is next Tuesday the 12th of November 6:00pm start with a BBQ featuring Gourmet sausages from the Jerrabomberra Butcher (transported to us in a Vito) some refreshing ales and then a tour of our facilities and a talk from yours truly.

With last year's event attracting nearly 60 people this is becoming a must attend event on the MBCACT calendar with people attending from as far away as Sydney. There is even a rumour of some customers coming up from Melbourne this year.

Cars for sale.

Cars sold in the last two months include the stunning low mileage 300E which was sold to a dealer in Victoria who just had to own it. In return we have part traded a 1984 280E with only 154000kms on the clock. It's the white one pictured in the r/h margin (click to enlarge). It will be prepared for sale so if you are looking for a low mileage collectable W123 contact us.

Also sold is the E270 sedan, the R129 500SL and the R500 wagon. Oddly we still have the E280CDI sedan, I say oddly as the first few of these we sold within days of them coming into stock. I guess the right person has not come along yet.

You can find details on them all at the links below:

C180k sedan 2004 model

CLK230 Coupe update version

W107 500SL very rare model in Australia.

E280CDI, update rocket ship.

CLK320, factory fitted AMG options.

What have we been doing?

As usual there is plenty going on here at MB Spares, much of which is posted on our FaceBook page. So for those of you without a Facebook account here is a summary of what happened recently. You don't have to have a Facebook account to check in on our page and see what is being discussed.

- We finished the restoration on this 3.5 coupe.

- We brought a pile of dead stock from a workshop in Sydney. That's our low mileage 280E that we were picking it up in.

- We brought this SLC to dismantle, it is a bit rusty.

- This G wagon will be for sale soon.

- Sandra and I went on holidays touring the Murray River and came across this Benz Sendling Tractor.

- We had some interesting mechanical failures towed in, including this turbo and this snapped off stub axle.

- And finally we discussed this North Korean knock off of the 190E.

You can see the other pictures not listed above by clicking on the arrows that magically appear on the l/h and r/h side of the pictures.

So that's it for this Newsletter, next Newsletter we have a solution for black brake dust on your wheels. So until then, be good, drive safely and look after your Benz.
